Kuma Kafe in Osaka

Had a great lunch there. They have a proper gluten-free menu! Not just one or two options. So many that for the first time in Japan, I was actually able to eat too much, ha! My stomach felt fine afterwards so it's definitely safe if you're gluten-intolerant like me. I can tolerate traces, but cannot have a bite of bread without being sick. I was lucky to get the table outside as it was full inside. Great view on the Ferris wheel. Really lovely people. Closed on Monday and Tuesday. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Osaka.

Had a bacon egg burger and a shepherds pie today, it was amazingly good. Friendly staff and cozy environment. A must go restaurant.

Coincidentally, we went into Kuma Kafe, after being in the aquarium - which for us was a chaotic and disappointing experience with far too many people. We quickly got the owner's (Paul's) attention and service to our table. Kuma Kafe has excellent food and drink. But, in addition, Paul and his wife have created a wonderfully calm, friendly and good atmosphere that makes the cafe a perfect oasis. Since words cannot adequately do justice to Kafe Kuma, my recommendation is quite simple - go in and experience for yourself, you won't regret it!

Best burger I've ever eaten. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff super friendly. Couldn't recommend it enough.

This place is amazing. Tried a few times to go here when I was living in Osaka and never managed. Finally managed to stop in during a business trip. Absolutely worth the wait. Best burger in Japan, bar none. I actually went for the pizza and ended up grabbing a pizza to go, the closest to American pizza I've had in Japan. Seriously, go here. Owner and staff are really good guys as well.

We split the sandwich and a small Mexican nacho pizza - unbelievable!! Likely the best pizza we have ever had. Owner was extremely friendly and came over to talk with us. Prices arent superbly cheap but very fair for the quality and portion size. This place is more than worth every penny - highly recommend Kuma Kate!

Worth the wait for a delicious ‘corner store’ gourmet style burger! The staff were lovely and the place was charming. Would recommend as a good stopover point on the way to the Osaka Aquarium!

Honestly shocked to find this place, we just happened to be walking by and googled the cafe to see the reviews. After trying the pizza and sandwiches can say that it absolutely lived up to the high ratings.

Just opposite to Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan a cozy cafe with Warm welcoming owner that serves Osaka’s best Burger. Not to be missed for anyone visiting that area

Unapologetic Australian goodness. Fantastic food, fantastic atmosphere, fantastic service. Get a glass of mixed juice and a Kuma Burger, and you're all set. Or go all out with a SUPER Kuma Burger, just don't expect to finish it in one sitting. An absolute must for those craving a "western" taste in Osaka.

If you are by the Osaka Aquarium, or planning to go, and you need a meal, I highly recommend the Kuma Kafe. The staff are some of the nicest people I've met and the food is extremely good. They have an English menu and the staff was great at speaking English, so don't let the worry of a language barrier hold you back. Food portion is VERY generous, even by American standards. We had a chili hotdog and a chocolate pancake, and both were so good. If I am fortunate enough to come back to Osaka, I will definitely be coming here again.

The food got great reviews from our group who left absolutely stuffed. The service was extremely freindly and helpful. They are Cash only.

Great place. Had the salad burger with a large ice coffee. Both were superb! The fries are also super well-made (don't miss out)! Kuma is a nice guy and has interesting stories to tell! Great experience!

Fantastic nacho pizza!! Nice atmosphere inside and friendly English-speaking staff members that gave us a few travel tips for our holiday. What's not to like?!

I had the best burger of my life here. Just a few minutes away from the aquarium and honestly much more exciting. Very friendly and helpful English speaking staff and English menus. Also one of the few places I've been in Japan that offers a beer larger than 12 ounces. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

The food here is really good! I had the toasted sandwich myself, along with some italian soda. Definitely worth the visit if you are in Osaka. English is fine here as it is run by a very charismatic Australian man. Don't forget to ask him about bears! 🐻

Best burger I've ever had. Came with a handy grease proof cover so you can hold and eat it easily.Right outside Osaka Aquarium makes it a perfect spot to have lunch. After the crowded aquarium visit, the quiet atmosphere of the cafe was great.

This is the best pizza we have had in Japan! Across the street from the aquarium. English menu, craft beer, kid friendly. They have a box of toys for kids to play with. Free wi-fi.

This place feels like a hug! The food is AMAZING! Generous portions, good presentation; can't say enough good things about it! The owner is so welcoming and it feels like a home away from home. Nice to be served by Paul. Homely environment with great food. Serving size is sufficient and leaving us very full. Very friendly and accommodating for young kids. Kind gesture to specially cook pasta for our toddler. Will recommend and visit again in future.

Really great place to grab a bite! Delicious food and the service was excellent. Our server was kind enough to not only recommend a few worth while destinations in Osaka but he wrote everything down and explained it all one by one.

Excellent service, staff is beyond friendly, the place is decorated with fantastic drawings, and to top it off, the pizza was astounding! I could tell they made their own sauce, and it went very well with the crispy crust. We will definitely be going back!

Delicious burgers! They also serve other fantastic food with great vegan selections, very good atmosphere for group dining. We had such a great time here, the service is good and welcoming. Can't wait for the next visit when I come to Osaka again.

Very rarely does one find a good place to relax and eat with nearby tourist attractions. Kuma Kafe is one such gem I had to try their Chilli Con Carne and my biggest mistake was having a big breakfast beforehand because it will fill you up. Don't hesitate to stop by cause I know I will the next time I visit Osakago!

The food here is absolutely delicious! I got a Kuma Burger and a hot oolong tea. The hamburger bread was toasted and the sauce inside is tasty. The fries are cripsy and seasoned perfectly. The owner Paul is very friendly and a chill guy to talk to! The waitress speaks really good English and is very sweet. Highly recommend!

Best burgers in Osaka! Get here early because the place fills up. Delicious burgers and the fries are perfect. Plus, a few tasty Osakan craft beers to explore. Super friendly English speaking staff, too. You should already be eating here.

Warm and cozy restaurant a short walk from the aquarium and across the road from the ferris wheel. Very accommodating to foreigners as menus are in English, and have American staff. I had the burger which was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Burger was so full of delicious juices and everything was delicious. Prices are pretty spot on, you are getting what you pay for.Would love to come back sometime.

This place serves one of the best burgers in Japan - wait - one of the best burgers ANYWHERE! The bun is crispy on the top and soft in the middle. The burger is so juicy you had better use the sandwich pocket it comes with or you'll have it all over you! The toppings are fresh and compliment the burger perfectly. The fries that come with the burger are crispy and plentiful.The pizza is fantastic with a homemade crust and fresh, abundant toppings. The sauce is flavorful and house made. Even the Italian soda is better than others I've tried in Japan.If you are in the area you must try this place! Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays - open until 6-6:30 the rest of the week. Soooo worth a visit!

Just wonderful.At the risk of repeating what everyone else has said, this place is a gem. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, but the real attraction is Paul, the owner, who's just a wonderful person to talk to. About 10 days into our Japan trip, it felt like coming into an oasis of friendliness. Plus, there's cheese!

Visited there yesterday, which is our last night in Osaka.The food was extraordinarily amazing, especially the bacon and egg burger. French Fries in the dish was specially seasoned with a kind of salt from Australia; it tasted really amazing.Paul is really a virtuso and diversified guy; I really spent a wonderful time here.Definitely 5 stars.
